Directions to Sewri-Mumbai's Flamingo Bay
Many people want directions to Sewri, so I've put up the info here.

By train:
Get off at Sewree station (E), which is on the harbour line. Cross the main road (Mahul Road), take the Sewri Koliwada Road opposite. Continue along this road and take the first left. This will take you to a crossroad (where this road meets the Sewri Fort Road) Take a right from here and continue until you reach the jetty. This is a place surrounded by ships/barges and is a good look out point for the birds. It's about 15 min walking distance from the station.

By road:
Take the IMAX Wadala road and take the turning for Sewree. If you're coming from Chembur, this is the left turning after the salt pan road. Continue along this road until you reach a crossroad near Godrej Foods. Take a right and go straight along this road (Mahul Road) -shown pale yellow on the map- until you reach Sewree Station. Alternatively, take R.A Kidwai Marg if you're coming from town or from the Western side and cross over from West to East when you reach Sewree station. Once you're at Sewree station East, directions are the same as above.

By Bus:
Sewree Bus depot is located in Sewree West. Take any bus that ends at P.Thakeray Udyan/Sewree depot. From Dadar TT, the bus numbers are 212, 312,40 (Ltd).

The most important thing to remember is the tide timing. Flamingoes will be seen 2-3 hours before/ after high tide. Check this link for tide timings before you plan a trip.

Spent my first morning in Mumbai after over a decade with just this info. Also my first birding experience. Was worth it.
